The Secret History of the Golem

THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE GOLEM

One of the cornerstones of Studio 407 is a project called Heroes Unlimited. It's an interesting universe of characters and a fun twist on the superhero genre. Without giving too much away, I think it's safe to say, you're gonna like it. It's the story of a boy, his favorite comic book and an adventure on an epic scale.

Now, while we're working on the main title, we had to develop our own universe of comic characters. Hundreds of heros and villains are ready to duke it out in Heroes Unlimited.

There are a lot of shiny balls in the Heroes Unlimited and we wanted to take some out and play with them. These characters help to flesh out the world of Heroes Unlimited, but we wanted them to be a bit more than just background props to the larger story. We felt they deserved more.

That's where big, bad Golem comes in. He represents the mystic aspect of the world. Starting with Golem, you're going to get a sneak peak into our Heroes Unlimited universe. Where superheroes are the norm, aliens walk among us, and villains hatch their next machiavellian plots. Spinning archetypes, playing with convention and turning expectations on their head is something we like to do.

So keep on the look out for more upcoming one-shots. Sturm & Drang -- two wrestlers abducted by aliens for an intergalactic gladiatorial arena. Arcadia -- a goddess' heroic (and sometimes not so heroic) journey through the ages. Gearhead -- a machine designed to enact revenge on ruthless ninja clans. Helix -- a priest who gives the devil his due. And Max Spyder -- a hero by choice but a villain by destiny.
